Mr. Pheasant's projects range from high-end residences to corporate interiors and special commercial assignments such as prototype retail environments, exhibition spaces and upscale hotels. In addition, he has created numerous costume and set designs for contemporary dance theater. Mr. Pheasant's aim is always to accomplish esthetically pleasing interiors characterized by outstanding, unparalleled quality and comfort. Each assignment is addressed individually and extraordinary attention is given to architectural elements, which serve to define the unique character of the interiors. He is known for his mastery of the neutral palette and his skillful mix of antiques with new furniture, as well as signature pieces of his own design.

His diverse accomplishments have been widely published in the most prestigious architecture and design publications as well as general news periodicals and newspapers including Architectural Digest, British House & Garden, Elle Decoration France, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, The New York Times Magazine and The Washington Post. In 1997, Pheasant received the Andrew Martin International Designer of the Year Award. He was selected by his peers as one of the "Future Hall-of-Famers" in November 1998 House Beautiful and as a designer "With an Eye Towards the New Millennium" in April 1999 Architectural Digest. In addition, his work has also been featured in books such as Accents on Accessories, Mirrors by Design, and Showcase of Interior Design ll and III.

Thomas Pheasant studied architecture at the University of Maryland, before turning his focus to Interior Design and furnishings. He established his design studio in 1980 in Washington, DC, which today is a dynamic and multifaceted enterprise with a professional and administration staff of ten.
